Gratitude Journaling

Do you feel like your days are passing by, and your to-do lists are getting longer and longer with each day (although you may be a quite productive person)?

In the trap of your inner voice

Have you ever had a feeling that you are just walking in circles, without any progress?

Does your little voice constantly tell you that you have achieved nothing but endless lists of tasks?

Well, we have something in common. I’ve been there too. Let’s face it: we are not used to noticing small things in our lives. Everything that matters is big: money, success, muscles, cars, mansions. We want more all the time.

It’s time to learn gratitude. It can really make you a better person!

Gratitude journaling helps you to develop a focus on the positive side of your life that you are missing so much. You don’t need any special tools for this: a simple piece of paper and a pen are just enough. Start right now.

How do I do gratitude journaling?

Every evening I write down positive things that happened during the day and all things, feelings, and thoughts I’m happy about. There’s no limitation. Initially, I’ve started with just one thing a day. Just to make it easy and keep the momentum. It was important for me to start small to build a habit. Now, after 16 months of journaling, I have approximately 3 points to write down each day.

What am I using for journaling?

I use an A5 notebook (navy blue, squared) and a pen. That’s all. I’ve been thinking about an app for this, but ended up having doubts if there could be too much friction to start and build the habit, since writing things down on a paper is a lot easier way than tipping on a small screen of my smartphone.

What do I get from it?

Gratitude journaling really helps me notice positive things in my life, both when it comes to my career, business, and private life. Every evening I have a moment when I can focus on feelings, events, people in my life, which are making me grateful now. I cannot even tell you how much peace and sense of fulfillment it gives me.

If you like to follow a template practicing gratitude journaling here you can find great ways to create your own style.

For fans of digital tools, there’re apps you can use for gratitude journaling as well. Basically, you can use any journaling app.

The key is to start now. No more excuses!

Leave a comment and share your experience with gratitude journaling. I would like to read how many points will you write this week! I can’t wait for your comments with share!

See you next week! Cheers!
